Every man, from accountants to electricians, can wear the metal buckle and get in on the “hero” fantasy all woman secretly harbor. Polished silver chrome and a pewter satin finish give it depth and an expensive look that exceeds its actual cost. Pair with jeans, black blazer and a cool pair of colorful sneaks for a night out. Just don’t tell the ladies you’re an actual firefighter, unless you are.

There are many ways to honor loved ones who’ve passed. I once wrote a blog about all the memorable things my Grandpa said and the country music he loved so much. One young woman keeps a piece of her Father close by wearing his favorite belt buckle. She doesn’t know where he got it or what it’s worth, but it is invaluable to her. Reagan’s Belt Buckles Trickle Down

Here’s an interesting story. The Reagan library has lost most of The Gippers prized belt buckle collection. A November 2007 NPR Radio Show, The Ramble, reported that hundreds of belt buckles “could not be accounted for”. One host suggested checking the waistlines of library employees or searching ebay for the items.
As far as fashion goes, seasonal must-haves fall in and out of favor faster than you can say “Tear down this wall” but owning a piece of presidential history is always cool (even though, in this case, highly illegal). Maybe spreading the wealth by sharing his renowned belt buckle collection is the former Prez’s post-mortem attempt at an economic stimulus package. You heard it hear first…the definitive analysis of Reaganomics.

I’ve been to more weddings in the last couple years than I can count on two hands. Most of them look pretty much the same–bride in Scarlett O’Hara dress, groom in black tux, enough flowers to decorate the Rose Bowl Parade. So when I stumbled upon photos of a recent Austin, Texas wedding, wherein the groomsmen wore Texas belt buckles, I thought it was a great idea. The buckles reflect the style and culture of the bride and groom without looking over the top and the groomsmen look comfortable in their suits and ties with a touch of what is familiar. Great way to personalize a wedding without looking like they came from a rodeo!

High school nerds unite! Former AV team members, FBLA Presidents and anyone teased, taunted and tormented for their smarts and tech know-how rejoice. Fashion is finally on your side. Where football captains and prom queens once mocked your pocket protectors, they will now be googling online electronics stores and searching ebay for the five coolest belt buckles out there…the ones you already knew about. Clap your hands everybody, and everybody clap your hands. Revenge of the Nerds hath arrived.
1. The Scrolling LED Belt Buckle. Say what you want without saying anything at all.
2. The Search Engine Belt Buckle. People are entering some strange queries on google. Your belt buckle exposes them.
3. The NES Belt Buckle. Pretty cool but a bit awkward to actually play with. Check out the photo of the girl on the pay phone, though. She’s savvy enough for a NES belt buckle but doesn’t have a cell phone?
4. The Ajoka Camcorder Belt Buckle. Be on your best behavior if your pal wears one of these, lest your drunken dance at Coyote Ugly ends up on youtube.
5. The Hard Drive Belt Buckle. Doesn’t actually do anything but looks awesome.
