The LED belt buckle has gotten a lot of press. Now meet the anti-LED buckle. The white board belt buckle is to the LED what letters are to email, walkman is to ipod and rotary is to cell phone. Low-tech and proud, the white board belt buckle is user-friendly–one need only decent penmanship to operate it–and has several handy applications:
1. “Can I get your number?” no longer requires frantic search for cocktail napkin and embarassing request of bartenders pen.
2. Writing address on it means cabbie will drop your drunkenness home instead of on street corner.
3. No memory yields no documentation of stupid one-liners and fake phone numbers (see #1).
Warning: Do not wear in rain, snow, sleet, hailstorm or shower as contents dissolve when wet.

I always tell the truth. Even when I lie. So trust me when I say that one of the coolest belt buckles I’ve seen so far has got to be the Scarface belt buckle. It features a photo of Pacino centered, Caesar-like, between four laurel leaves with a scroll reading “Money, Power, Respect” beneath. The silver buckle measures a little more than three inches wide and is so well detailed you can see the pinstripes in Pacino’s suit. Make way for the bad guy.

I’ve kinda had a car theme going lately–Mustang and Ford seatbelts refashioned as belt buckles–and have, in the past, highlighted funtional belt buckles. Well, here’s the cadillac of cool belt buckles…literally.
Part hood ornament, part bottle opener, the caddy belt buckle is all class. Of course, you must unhook the buckle to open your Michelob–not so classy–but, it’s a great icebreaker at dull parties.

Sometimes innovation is so obvious as to be invisible. Take this million dollar idea, for example: Convert a buckle into a buckle! That’s precisely what Automate did when it re-fashioned a seatbelt into a proper belt buckle. Why didn’t I think of that?
I prefer the Mustang buckle–the insignia is just so cool–but Amazon.com offers the Ford version of the same. Just don’t forsake an actual seatbelt for this faux version whilst driving. It may save you from getting a ticket–”but Officer, I am wearing a seatbelt”–but it won’t save you if you’re in a fender bender. Buckle up!
